Leafs @ Red Wings - Oct. 11th, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

These early games tell me one thing, no way would I ever risk not being able to sign Marner and Matthews because of Nylander.  Nylander either takes what Dubas thinks makes sense to sigh the others or pound sand.

Jansen had the right idea with the knee down the first time he fronted Matthews on that PP, but then didn?t for the shot that beat them all.

I like Nylander a lot.  But I hope he realizes that no matter what he will be a very rich fellow, and that he would be certifiably insane not to to want to be part of this offense,

Exactly.  See Golden State Warriors.  His NHL contract is only part of his earning potential being part of the best offense on the planet.

He needs to convey this to his agents.

Absolutely. The 4th best forward on the best offense in hockey? Remember in the 80's when Glenn Anderson was an international media sensation? Shoe deals, movie roles...Michael Jordan look out!

Shanahan wasn't all that subtle the other day but he was essentially right.  As an athlete, to be able to look back on championships means something.  Or it should, anyway.

That behind the net to net front play was definitely a set option.

My sample size is limited but the few NHL players I have known personally, winning a championship was always lower in priority than getting paid.
