Alright, I saw this here posting and thought I'd answer these questions here like I did last time. I would've done it sooner, but I only get the keyboard on Saturdays, which isn't right folks. Freidman there gets to talk about what he is thinking every day, and they only get me 6 or 5 minutes here to tell you what you folks need to know about hockey. It's not right. Anyways, lets get this show on the road. Lets go here.
1. Who was the Leafs MVP?
Ok folks, I've been telling you people this for years, but you aren't listening. The Leafs MVP is that good ole Canadian boy Kadri. That kid has magic hands. Look at him in tight there, just look at him. Nobody can do the things this kid does, and if the Leafs hadn't ruined him, he'd have a Hart trophy by now. He gets his nose dirty, gets in there just like that and all, and makes sure the other team know he's on the ice. When he was in London he won the championship and all that, and played with Tavares in the juniors, scored some big goals for us folks, some big goals. That's an MVP for you.
2. Tell us why in exactly 6 words.
I said magic hands. Next question.
3. Who was the biggest disappointment?
Now I know what you are going to say. You're all going to be saying "but Don you're picking him because he's Russain", "but Don you don't like Russians", "but Don isn't there someone else on the Leafs that was disappointing", and that's all true, but I'm sorry, Zitseive there can't play hockey in the NHL folks. I'm sorry but it's true. He's come over here from that Russian league, taking a spot for a good Canadian boy, and all that. He doesn't know how to play the way you need to play in the NHL, the greatest league in the world. I mean look at that there folks, there he is trying to block that shot doing the flamingo and all that on the shot there, getting himself hurt. That's disappointing. That's disappointing.
4. Who was the most underappreciated?
Ok, now when I was coaching Boston, I used to say to Bobby, "Now Bobby I don't want you out there fightin' no one. We need you playin' the game", but you know, Bobby could take car of himself and all that, so I would go to Espi and O'Reilly, and I would say, listen guys, listen up, "We can't have Bobby fighin' out here and getting hurt and all that, so make sure no one fights him, OKAY!". And so Bobby didn't get in to many fights, and look at him, one of the best defencemen to play the game ever, skating around out there, nobody touched him. So the Leafs have Matt Martin, and he's there to protect the Marner's and the Matthew's, and those kids there, so that they don't hurt their hand and backs and such. He can't even get in to the lineup now, and that ain't right folks. He protects those kids there, makes sure they don't get hurt an all that. He's got some good mitts on him there, scored a goal once or twice this year, but Babcock keeps him in the press box. Doesn't make sense folks, you got a player like that, plays the game the right way, just doesn't make sense. It's a shame. Just a shame.
5. Give us your "Nobody Saw That Coming!" off-season trade involving current non-UFA Leafs roster players.
So I just told you about how Babcock won't play Martin there, and the Leafs are going to realize that they need some more muscle in their lineup. So there going to have to go and get a guy to help Martin our there, and so I think they'll get Ryan Reaves from Vegas there. I mean look at how good that team did there this year. Almost first place in the League, making the playoffs, so he's got winning in him, he's a winner. So they may have to give up the Leiko, or Lenovo kid or whatever his name is there to get him, but it's work it folks. It's worth it. I mean Reaves fights, he sticks up for his teammates and all that, he can hit, he got 10 points this year, I mean 10 POINTS!!! folks. Babacock would be stupid to not play the kid. Mark my words.
What's the next question? That's it. What do you mean that's it? Freidman gets 31 thoughts, I only get to answer 5 questions. Geez, will you look at that. Alright lets get out of here.
Sincerely,
