Good to see that Carlyle is sticking to his guns and playing McLaren and Fraser.

SNL could make a great skit with Carlyle playing the Bruce Dickinson character and McLaren/Orr/Fraser playing the cowbell. Kadri, Smith and Rielly could be the exasperated band-mates. Gold Jerry, Gold.

I take umbrage disparaging anything Bruce Dickinson...  :P

Should be a good game.

In terms of the playoff race, it's pretty much a must-win game for Ottawa.

I see complaints about McLaren playing, Neil is a a$$ and picks fights. Who should play and fight with him... Hmmmmm

Neil usually waits to play like an a$$ when there is no one on the ice to smash him in the face. If Orr or McLaren are on the ice he's more likely to not play like a moron, unfortunately neither one can skate with him and as much as I despise the toothless idiot he has more points than all three of our "tough guys" combined.

Fraser and Mclaren are as useless as tits on a bull. Thanks God Bolthead is resting his elbow, one down and two more to go. And please keep Mclement on line 4 where he belongs.  I am starting to really get pissed at Randy C at this point.

I think Orr has been skating fairly well, is only a -3, has had just 3 non-fight related penalties (So he's not just playing like an idiot), brings 110% effort and energy, throws hard legal hits, and never takes a shift off. What more exactly do you want from a fourth line fighter/energy player? He's easily top 10 in his category in the league in my opinion.

But I agree Fraser should be replaced by Liles for the time being and McLaren should sit for most any able bodied Nhl-ish player we have.

Also nobody truely complains about Morgan but the kid is a -11 >_> should we just sit him when it's not the PP?

Wha?  I'd say on just San Jose and Dallas their entire 4th lines are each leagues better than Orr.  And that's just two teams, 6 players.

What more do I want?  A player who can handle the puck?  A player who can carry the puck?  A player who can play defense?  A player who can keep up with others in the league?  A player who at least provides the potential they might score a goal or help set one up?  A player who can cycle the puck?

Really almost anything other than the nothing Orr does.

Maybe I can help summarize all the negative narratives with the team right now so those who keep bringing them up won't keep repeating themselves over and over again 50x a day.  Please think of the bandwidth you are costing tmlfans.ca

I call this the "Guys, we get it already" list:

1. Orr sucks he is a meat head who can't do anything right. So is FML.
2. Carlyle is a dingus who can't do anything right.
3. Peter Holland should be getting 25:00 a night in ice time. He is our future. No ramp up in time spent practicing required.
4. Jay McClement can't do anything right
5. Mark Fraser can't skate or do anything else right
6. Paul Ranger can't do anything right
7. Thank GOD they brought Liles up.  Phew. We're going to be okay now.
8. We want a highly skilled 4th line that can put up about 40 goals and 200 points. Because that's what 4th lines do across the league.

Did I miss anything?  No? Ok good. I've saved you guys from typing the same thing like 500 more times today.  Your keyboards will thank me and so will tmlfans.ca owners' wallets.

8) (possible that sarcasm was used above.)

Yeah, but you gotta admit, "Colton Orr" is a pretty cool name.

Yeah, but you forgot about the part that Orr sucks.

I want Garry Valk back.

(though he might have been more of a 3rd liner)

Well if CF is talking on behalf of all the negative posters I'll step up for the positive posters here:

Everything is fine lets bury our heads in the sand now!

Alright Rick, may as well shut her down.

I didn't say his position, I said his category and then I even labeled it for you (Fighter/Energy).

Now obviously if you look at the best fourth liners in the league you're going to see some great ones every year. (Helm during Detroit's Stanley Cup run in 2008 comes to mind.) And if we could I'd ice 6 Helm's in my bottom six all year round. But today I'm talking about Orr and his specific role that he does and he's one of the best at it. Now if you want to argue that that role shouldn't exist be my guest. If you dislike fighting and gooning it up, by all means put that down too. But don't try to say that it's a fact that he's bad at what he does. Or at least if you do, for the time being I'll continue to disagree.
