Leafs @ sens - Jan. 15th, 7:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

It bugs me how people will say the Leafs defense it terrible but whenever I watch a Leafs game it sure seems like the Leafs get tons of Grage A chances against their opponents bit their goalies actually make stops.

Meanwhile if you get a scoring chance on Freddie there is a good chance it's going in.

Hmm Freddie a little slowish to react there IMO.

I thought so too. He read the play but he was too slow to get over and set himself. Andersen really looks me so far.

Also do refs typically call that a too many man penalty? I thought they usually let it slide when the skater is basically at the bench?

Leafs dominated that period. Refs will try there best to keep it close.

Your last statement is sad but so true. The only other sport that I can make a valid point to is soccer. Premier league football refs are regularly called out for poor performances in the media and in online shows, it?s not uncommon for them to be demoted to lower leagues but over here in the NHL it seems that they are for some reason untouchable.
It seems to me that NHL refs are more concerned about keeping thing even whereas EPL refs let the teams decide that.

So your the reason.

I have no idea what this means. It's not even really English. :o

I'm starting to get a little frustrated with Keefe.

Clearly Joe isn't a fit on the Matthews line - whereas Hyman has been the probably the best leaf forward tonight, and he's playing with Kerfoot. Why isn't he digging out pucks on the top line, like he's done effectively his whole career?

On the back end, I have no idea what's happening. Holl looks glacially slow, and Bogosian is playing way, way too much. I thought he was supposed to be a #7.

You said that "whenever you watch" which could imply that when you don't watch Andersen is good.  So your the reason that Andersen is bad.

I'll say this then I'll stop about Andersen.

Watch those goals scored by the Sens. He is completely out of the net. Not even close to being in position. He's overplaying everything.

The Brodie tip he's left the entire right side of the net uncovered. Yes Brodie should have tried the guy up but come on. The Leafs should be Campbell in net for the 3rd. If all this talk about Andersen being on a short leash is true then it's the right move.

I don't disagree.  He's completely swimming in there.  For some reason when he starts a season, regardless of month, he is completely off his rhythm.
