Leafs @ sens - Mar. 12th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Not a proud Leafs fan... we truly stink if we can't even beat a bad Senator team at least once in a season.  >:(

Kadri doesn't seem like he's got a whole lot of variety in his shot.

He's played well this year though, but the offense just hasn't been there. It's going to be pretty interesting as to what the Leafs do in this offseason. If they could get him long term at a 5ish cap hit, it could turn out to be a steal.

I don't know.  He was playing a complete game earlier this year (minus the scoring) and then potted a few and now he seems to have tailed off.  I don't think he's done anything to prove that he's an indispensable part of the future.

His trade value is fading fast, just like his scoring touch!

I'm not sure any player is really indispensable but he has also shown enough to prove useful.

Useful where and at what price, though?  As a 3C?  Because depending on what happens, that's where he might slot in next season.

Marincin's got a decent shot.  That's about 5 or 6 of those that I recall in the past month or so.  None scoring, though.

It's annoying when CBC picks a player (usually price, or Karlsson, or whoever) and completely overrepresents all commentary for the entire game on that player, regardless of any meaningful contribution.

Tonight its all about Shoshnikov.

My thoughts from the game.

Kadri - Stop falling all over the place. Man up.
Reilly - Great offensive. Please learn to hit someone.
Gardiner - Great skater - absolutely no hockey sense.
Sparks - bad game with no defense.
well IMO this sums it up.

X100. It's somewhat surprising the producers don't tell them to stop the love fest.

Put it another way, I don't think they'd have trouble moving him for a pretty good return.

Gardiner's mental and positional game has improved dramatically since Babcock took over, and the skillset he has is remarkable. I think it'd be foolish to assume that he's done improving as a player.

I'll bet a team like Edmonton would throw an impressive package together; a guy like gardiner is overrepresented in what that team needs. Of course, the leafs could do well to hold on to him.
