Game Notes

TOR
?Hutchinson (3-2-0, 2.03 GAA, .934 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?The Leafs could have an interesting decision here with Campbell. Keefe said in the post-game that he wasn't sure if Jack would be available, but I think the feeling is he's close. He'd get an additional 4 or 5 days off if he doesn't start Sunday, so I'm guessing we see Hutch again

OTT
?Murray (7-12-1, 3.84 GAA, .880 Sv%) will likely start for the sens
?The sens have gone 5-6 since their last meeting against Toronto, which isn't too shabby all things considered. They're 1-5 in their last 6 games though

Injuries

?Jack Campbell - Lower Body - Day to day
?Wayne Simmonds - Hand - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Artem Anisimov - Upper Body - Questionable Sunday
?Colin White - Leg - Questionable Sunday
?Marcus Hogberg - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Derek Stepan  -Shoulder - Out for season

Given what LK said about wrist injuries I might seriously consider holding Matthews out of this one. And maybe the next two as well.  That's about 2 weeks off while missing only 3 games.

What is actually wrong with Campbell? Is it upper or lower body?

Are they just being extra careful with him.because they are thinking they will need him for the home stretch and playoffs?

Lower body again.

Need Hutch to play well tonight. Can't believe I'm relying on Hutchinson to win us games now

I've noticed something. I enjoyed the games much more when they were winning all the time. Weird eh?

It could be an ugly week on radio and twitter if Leafs lose tonight.  No games until Friday so it'll be non stop doom and gloom

It's like people have been waiting for something to complain about. I'm not concerned at all. Every team will have a slump. Yes they didn't play all that great last night but it isn't like they've been bad since the EDM series. I fully expect a win tonight and that would mean they won 2 of their last 3 going into a much needed break.

I like that they have the St. Pats jerseys enough, but I don't like watching them on the ice all that much.

Even last night.  It wasn?t like Winnipeg dominated.  The Leafs didn?t deserve to win.  The Jets did.  But if the Leafs scored on a few of their chances or Freddy made a great save and the refs didn?t decide to change what was a penalty late in the game it could have been a different game and it wouldn?t have been unreasonable if the Leafs won.

To me they were the better team in the first two game and probably deserved to win at least one of the two Vancouver games.  Puck luck hasn?t been on their side the last week

No it hasn't and that's the way it goes. Even the media guys aren't really dumping on them. It's the same old, they haven't really played bad scenario.
As for Freddie, he made a few great saves last night. The 2 on 1 in the first comes to mind. The issue right now it seems when the Leafs have a brainfart, every player on the ice does too. That 3rd goal last night. Puck bounces off Freddie's stick, Dermott goes behind the net and does nothing, Engvall in front not watching Lowry. 2 guys right there that could have and probably should have stopped the pass. At the  least Engvall should have tied up Lowry. He didn't.
They'll get it going tonight and hopefully dominate. Doesn't mean they'll win but they need to play a really strong game.

The ref Keefe lost it on last night is reffing this game too, so that could be fun.
I'm sure we've had that clown more then once so far this year seeing the north has their own officials. Could be fun.

Same guy who called that famous Kerfoot "slash" against Edmonton apparently.

This is a dicey area to analyze but since Keefe ripped the guy last night, he could react in one of 3 ways:

1. Normal game, calls 'em as he sees 'em.
2. Calls iffy ones on the Leafs to show Keefe who's boss.
3. Does just the opposite to show he's perfectly objective.

My sense is that #1 and #3 are more likely rather than bring more attention to himself with #2.
