I'm pretty sure that's how it's being reported, as "reports" from sources. It's not being presented as fact, everyone knows this.
That's fine, what I'm objecting to is the prime placement on tsn.ca in the headline position -- something that should be reserved for confirmed news, not an opinion piece, which is what this essentially is. It's just shoddy journalism.
But it says right under the big headline part "Report:" and then in the blurb under the photo says "sources indicate." I don't see an issue with it, I don't feel misled by it.
"Report" is a weasel word in this context, meaning "we really want to say something here but we haven't been able to confirm it yet from a reputable [as opposed to unnamed] source so we'll call it a "report."
Busta hit it, it's not even journalism.
