Game Notes

TOR
?Campbell (13-4-1, 1.72 GAA, .943 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Kase was back in his regular spot alongside Kampf and Engvall at practice on Friday, so it looks like he could be returning after missing the past 3 games
?Woll was also back at practice and the plan is for both him and Hutchinson to travel to Minnesota. It's not clear if he'll be dressing or playing this weekend but I wouldn't be surprised to see Hutch back-up against the Wild and Woll to start against Winnipeg
?A couple of minor injury notes: Rielly wasn't at practice because of a blocked shot he took earlier in the week while Marner left practice after a collision with Muzzin. Both are expected to play but will be re-evaluated Saturday morning

MIN
?Talbot (12-5-0, 2.71 GAA, .914 Sv%) will likely start for the Wild
?Minnesota sits 4th in the league in points and maybe a little more surprisingly 4th in goals per game
?Their offensive contributions are largely coming from two players: Kirill Kaprizov who is tied for 5th in the league in scoring and Ryan Hartman who is currently tied for 8th in the league in goals
?Hartman has been a surprise star for the Wild this season with 13 goals and 21 points in 23 games. He's in his 6th season in the NHL and the Wild are his 4th team. He'll easily surpass his career highs in goals and points which he set in his rookie season when he had 19 goals and 31 points with Chicago

Injuries

?Ilya Mikheyev - Thumb - Injured Reserve
?Petr Mrazek - Groin - Injured Reserve
?Joseph Woll - Undisclosed - Questionable
?Ondrej Kase - Upper Body - Probable
?Morgan Rielly - Undisclosed - Probable
?Mitch Marner - Undisclosed - Probable
Code:

?Frederik Gaudreau - COVID-19 Protocol - Out
?Jared Spurgeon - Lower Body - Injured Reserve

Hartman regression starts tomorrow night.

I've tried to hold back being bowled over but if they can manage a win against Minny I'll be mighty impressed.

Timothy Liljegren is having such a great year he can play and be scratched at the same time.

He'll either play or be scratched, either way I'll be right.

Schrodinger?s D.
When he wasn't reconfiguring our notions of reality he was a pretty good puck mover for the Eisbaron.

Marner down; Matthews playing with two wingers that were Spezza?s 4th line wingers for a couple of games earlier in the season.

I don?t hate putting Simmonds up there with how he has played lately.  Accidents happen in practice but sucks to lose Marner tonight while going up against a good team that is playing well

Matthews doesn?t need clean fancy passes. He is arguably at his most dangerous fishing pucks out of chaos and finishing them where others would have no solutions. Just throw it on net for him, since he isn?t beholden to long range wristers this season (especially without Marner).

Ritchie will replace Marner's offense tonight.  That is what will happen and my predictions have never been wrong.

Holl does a lot of really aggressive punches for a guy who really doesn?t provide much offense.  I?m not sure that I like how aggressive he plays when it rarely turns into generating scoring chances
