Suspension? Looked a bit elbow-y

Not likely. Elbow was tucked when contact was first made and came out after. Also, it was only at head level because Backstrom was in his crouch.

Ashton isn't really doing ... anything.

What? He had a great chance to score, Backstrom had to make a great save.  Did some hard work down low that shift, the whole line did really.

And that's the only time you've noticed him all season, right?  Be honest now ... other than when he has getting his beak busted.

I can't believe Backstrom played for as long as he did after the hit. The guy looked like he was knocked out cold. The whole quiet room thing is such a joke.

I've noticed him.  I don't find it difficult to notice Leafs players on the ice.  But it stands to reason you're less likely to notice a player who averages under 10:00 per game.  If they can get a good chance or two in that time it's good.  He seems to be good at what he is - a strong forechecker with a decent shot.  Fine for what he's playing.

Leafs are doing a nice job of breaking up a lot of the Wild's chances. On the flip side, the Leafs are allowing the Wild to get into position for a lot of potential high quality chances.

It's a puck, not a f$!?@ng grenade. I've seen tyke teams throw the puck away more than these guys.

The players either aren't getting the message or are completely incapable of executing Carlyle's gameplay, or the message is getting lost and the players have no idea what Carlyle wants them to do. Either way, nobody has a clue out there. This is some seriously pathetic hockey.

We really need to get a heavyweight or two so Lupul doesn't have to keep dropping the gloves like that.

Gardiner 3:33 TOI
Rielly 3:53 TOI

For a team struggling to generate offense, maybe playing two of your more skilled offensive players a little more might be in the cards.
