Lightning @ Leafs - Mar. 19th, 7:00pm - TSN, TSN 1050

Hey, they left Stamkos point blank in the slot.

This team is sooooo not making the playoffs if Bernier isn't back in the game few games.

The "don't let Ovechkin do anything" part of it worked just fine. The other 3 guys on the ice were the failure in that one.

To add to my replay, I think Oates did a great job by moving Ovechkin back to the point against the Leafs as opposed to his regular spot near the net. Having a penalty killer hanging around his own blue line is a lot more harmful to your penalty kill then having him stay near the net.

I can't be the only one thinking screw the playoffs we're not going anywhere anyways.  A higher pick and a new coach would be better long run than an even worse first round embarrassment than last year.

Not sure why we don't use the shadow play on Stamkos too.

You can be my assistant when I take over behind the Leafs' bench.

Associate coach or bust.

Fine. Fine. Whatever meaningless title works for you.

Oh!! oh! OH OH OH!!! Can I be 'associate coach in charge of Joffrey Lupul?'

As long as we don't have to have a bunch of sexual harassment seminars because of it.

L K and yours truly kind of bought into that in yesterday's GDT.

I never root for us to lose but it would not be the end of the would if we collapsed ... so long as it meant the end of Carlyle and major changes on the blueline.

They'd just blame Reimer and we'd do this all over again next season. You know, like we did last season.

Probably, but, I'm also not convinced Nonis and Carlyle are really on the same page right now, either. He may just take advantage of the situation and the easy explanation on why he fired the coach.

Phaneuf's contract will handcuff any real blow-up of the D, but one thing at a time. Can't believe how much of a failure Carlyle has been defensively.
