The 4 minutes for a scrape on a high stick while other similar plays can draw blood or worse and only be 2 minutes makes a lot of sense.

Ya never liked that rule. Should be ref's discretion.

Yeah, but context. Bishop's faced 39 shots, giving up his 3rd. Andersen's 5 in on 17 shots.

Context is my point exactly. All goalies let in stoppable goals. We don't apply the same critical eye to opposing goalies we do to our own.

Yeah, I got that we look at the opposition differently than we do ourselves. The meaningful actants in what we watch are the characters we see game in, game out: we score the goals, we give them up.

But we also look at an iffy goal shot #38 differently than we do the fifth goal on shot #17.

Polak demonstrating more of that solid, keep the offensive player between you and your goaltender.

Get Hunwick out of there. WTF does Babcock see in him. Sure be nice to play in this league nowadays. Forwards have nothing to worry about standing in front of the net.

But that's the same sort of thinking that goalies should be magically better when the team "needs" a save. If the quality of chances are there, it's not like a goalie gets worn out by shot 38.

Hobbled by a nice block moments before.  But hey, it's open season on him, right?  That was on Hunwick anyway.

Meh. I think there's enough time to catch another episode of The Wire before I crash tonight if I cue it up now.

Sure. And I think, when Corsica Hockey is updated, we'll find that Andersen's HDSV% and MDSV% are well below Bishop's. That Bishop has let fewer squeak through is why no one's saying he's giving TB mediocre goaltending tonight.

Hey guys, I don't think Hunwick and Polak are good at this hockey thing. Exact same play as the other day.

I'm still confused by the Polak signing. It's a one year deal, so it's not a huge issue, but, it felt unnecessary at the time - and, it's pretty clear that, well, he's just not so good at defence. We already had a guy to fill the bad defensive defenceman role.

Any coach that continues to play Hunwick and Polak doesn't have a clue!

Come on Babcock, the TANK is over!

Or, is it?  ???

Making major qualitative statements doesn't interest me. Breaking down goals as to why they happen does and, sadly, shot totals don't really have anything to do with that.
