Maple Leafs @ Stars - Dec. 6th, 8:30pm - SNO, Fan 590

The double minor for high-sticking is even worse when you consider the injuries could be prevented from wearing better protective gear, such as a cage or other protection.

Yes, yes, i know it'll get in the way of the face-punching.

Hey a stupid too many men penalty after getting some momentum back.  Good stuff Holl

I'm in the camp that they should all wear cages just like they did as kids.

Yep. For pros, the 1/2 visor, 1/2 cage ones make sense. I'd be wearing one for sure. I like my teeth.

Falling down all first period aside Timmins has looked fine.  I haven?t really noticed SDA but he really hasn?t had a chance to play with all the PK time

The de-valuation of tooth loss in hockey ("spittin' chiclets") will one day be looked back upon as Neanderthal material.

Giordano calls for the puck and then makes a bad play cutting back into the corner and then throws the puck over the glass.  Leafs playing with fire.

It's hockey there is so much stuff in the game where an injury could occur. Where do you draw the line? Going to put everyone in body armour? Players need to control their sticks etc if not to the box. That wasn't even a high stick it was an errant stick as Robertson was hunched over. 2 players fighting for the puck. I can see a 2 min penalty for that for not controlling your stick but like I said 2 guys fighting for the puck. Seen way worse than that and only 2 minutes. Some players don't like wearing visors and a cage is worse. I didn't care to wear one as I thought it hindered my vision when fighting for the puck or handling it at times.
