Marlies sign Rich Clune

I've heard of him, but that's because my cousin's in laws are related to him.

Had a season the lockout year with the Preds considering he's a grinder/goon, but he's there to protect the young kids with the Marlies.

Also, this article is great: http://www.theplayerstribune.com/rich-clune-hockey-nhl/

I like the fact that we have a tough veteran who has a life story of turning it around to mentor our youth.  There is a lot of pressure on these kids in all directions and having someone like Rich be there to help them through a tough transition period in life could be very beneficial to the kid and the team.

Seconded. Sounds like a good guy to have around some of the kids even off the ice.

To complement The Players Tribune article: http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=774012

It's PR fluff, but the very best kind of it. I'm rooting for this guy.

See, now I want to know where he's from. He describes himself as being from "inner-city Toronto" and I generally think it's pretty rare that we get too many genuine 416ers on the team.
