Marlies Talk 13/14

Is there a reason why there has been such a long gap between games 2 and 3 of the Marlies first round series? Did they have to walk back from Milwaukee?

Marlies win 2-0 and sweep their best of 5 series.

Sweet. The extra time between rounds should help with more  recovery time for guys like Holland and Abbott.

Round 2 opponents will be either Chicago (STL) or Grand Rapids (DET). It will be determined after today's Game 5 of the Chicago-Rochester series.

I thought Nyquist may have gone down to the AHL after Detroit was knocked out, thankfully he wasn't able to. Both those teams finished with more points than the Marlies though so either match-up will be tough.

Tonight: Calder Cup playoffs, round two. Marlies vrs. Chicago Wolves. 8:30pm start on LeafsTV.

Enjoyed the Marlies playoff hockey so far.

But, hate to say this, I'm hoping for one loss either Wed or Fri so that I can see the game on Sat! My kids gave me Marlies tickets for Mother's Day!!!

Smart kids I'd say ;) If they sweep Chicago, just exchange them for Round 3.

I've seen enough of D'Amigo in the NHL to know that he isn't going to be this guy who can play outside of the bottom 6 in terms of offensive skill, but it really makes you wonder when the guy can't get trust from Carlyle despite producing in those "character" moments like the playoffs.

He played in 22 games this year and in 16 of them he had less than 8:30 in ice-time (most of those in the 5-7 minute range.  Given that he's a guy who works hard, it again just strikes me as Randy complaining about guys not buying in, not competing hard, but when you have a guy doing that, there is no reward at the end of the tunnel.

I think RC needs to give the game to his young kids, let them prove themselves. I think Shanny will have some say in that,  the way of his days in det, and even this year we can see how that works.

Looks like Bolland will be back, where are the young guys going to play?

Why do you think Bolland will be back?

Marlies haven't lost a single game yet in the AHL playoffs. 6-0 so far. I'm surprised more Leaf fans aren't into this.

The Shanaplan said he wants Bolland back, that he is his kind of player?so where will all the young studs on the Marlies play?

Jerry D'Amigo leads the AHL in playoff scoring with 11 points in 6 games.

13G 20A 33P in 32 career playoff games
