Just a reminder that Sheldon Keefe has done a really nice job with the Marlies so far.

Started the season 27-7-2 for a .778 PT% and 1st place in the AHL.

Damn, I don't follow the AHL at all, but that's an impressive record.  Hope it translates into future Leafs players.

Without a doubt, I'd say there are between six and ten guys on the Marlies that have a guaranteed future with the Leafs or in the NHL at the very least.

Can't remember if this was posted here or not, but about a month ago TLN had an article showing just how good of a season the Marlies are having:

Basically shows that they're having one of the most dominant seasons in the AHL in the past 10 years.

It's certainly a misnomer to tour the age of the team entirely because they are getting big contributions from veteran players too but the young guys are really doing a great job of playing two way games and working towards NHL spots.

Nylander not back in TO yet.

Unfortunately I don't think we will see much of William for the rest of the season. Probably a good thing, let his brain heal for as long as possible, shut him down and get him ready for next season, he really has nothing left to prove at the AHL level.

How about he heal as long as is necessary and then get back to playing hockey as soon as possible? If he's ready to go in a week, then he should be playing.

having had sports concussions when younger I can attest to playing again before I felt truly ready to go. This was in the age before protocols (ya leather helmut times) and any young man with a competitive spirit will want to play asap.  This guy is our top prospect, just would rather err on the side of caution than expose him to AHL goons.
And if he cannot fly that is saying something as well.

Nobody is saying to leave the decision up to him.

I feel like a bit of a broken record but there is absolutely nothing to factually support this approach in the concussion literature.  The Leafs are being cautious with a guy who is still acutely symptomatic but once he is asymptomatic there is no supporting event to not let him resume play and if anything it would only harm his development by needlessly keeping him out of games when he is ready to return.

LK, you may not be a Doctor but you could play one on TV. You seem to know a lot about this so I differ to you knowledge on this.

He gets a 2" credit on skates (Like they all should), seems to have some of the right stuff, lets keep an eye on him. I like what I saw in the Marlies shutout recap
