Marlies Talk

"Frattin is the best offensive forward we've seen all year on an opposing team ... he can do things a high speed others can't" Barons Broadcaster

Real nice save by Scrivens towards the end of the period.

2-0 Marlies after the 2nd period

nice praise for frattin there by the play by play from the baron's feed ...saying pretty much that frattin was the best player he'd seen on an opposing team this year

Article by @Kylethereporter where Colborne talks about his slump, and that there are some things we'll find out after the season that were hampering him.  Sounds like he's had a lingering injury for most of the season, and that might be a partial explanation for his points totals taking a dive.

IceCaps head coach Keith McCambridge has been around the AHL for decades as a player and a coach and was impressed by St. John?s fan support. All 46 home games at Mile One Centre through the 2011-12 regular season and playoffs were sold out.

Good for them. They averaged around 6,300, 9th in the AHL. They had great fans who used to frequent this site when the Baby Leafs played there.

Marlies were 14th with 5,480/game.

If he played a full AHL season and scored at a similar rate as he did in his 23 regular season games he would have led the league in scoring. He needs to be penciled in on Grabs wing next season.

Nice to hear for sure. Not a lock in the top six I don't think but a sure fire part of the team. No doubt about it.

If you look at the video of his play in college, he demonstrated to me that he's a pretty good goal scorer. I'm not sure if he can carry a NHL scoring line but he shows real promise that he could compliment a scoring line. It's a fair leap to go from the NCAA to the NHL. I think fans need some patience with him.

If he gets top six ice time and PP ice time, he'll pop 20+ goals.

The parts of his game that appealed to me were that he showed up able to play some defensively and he does pretty well in physical play - relative to some of the lightweights we have. He's a better rounded player than a number of our young players. In my mind, the worst case for him at this point is that he's a tweener.

I've liked the guy since he showed up. Hopefully, he'll progress next season and help out more.

I love how strong on his skates he is, even at the NHL level.  He's just solid out there and hard to move, and you could see him surprise guys this season by exploding into them.

Yep. It's like he's got a lower center of gravity, strong legs or something because he's not a big guy. He's not small either.

D'Amigo scores into the empty net. 3-0!! Game effectively over.

glad they got the win ..i'm still surprised they did ..though i guess it's still a credit to them that they could get the win despite missing 3 fairly key players...i hope some of them are coming back for game 5

Scrivens with his 2nd shutout of the series. I know there's still 1 more win needed, but Scrivens vs. Tokarski could be quite the match-up in the finals.

Four of their top 8 forward scorers were out tonight:
Kadri, Zigomanis, Mueller & Ashton. Makes the result that much more impressive. I couldn't find out much about when they'll return. I think Ashton (concussion) is practicing with the team.
