Michael Bunting is a Maple Leaf

"You know, I'm a bit of an agitator out there on the ice. I like getting under people's skin. So, yeah, I'm fairly comparable to regular 35+ goal, 80+ point Team Canada forward Brad Marchand"

"You know, I play the role so well that it's gotten me into 26 NHL games since I was drafted in 2014.  So yeah, similar to Brad Marchand."

Well I?m sure he was comparing his ?pestyness? attributes with Marchand. He obviously can?t compare himself on the scoresheet or even the gamesheets with the ?tongue rat?

This number was assigned to him in Arizona.

I can't believe we signed the next Brad Marchand for 900K!

Smart. 5 less than Marchand. Clearly he's not that arrogant.
We're gonna see some bizzarro numbers next season!

Of Leaf jersey numbers we speak?  Of their coolness?

I have two words for you:

The case for Bunting to win the Calder:

Look at the GF/GA numbers at the bottom of the article.

Embedded tweet cuts the joke out so credit to @kyleevans11 for the reply/image.

That table in there shows Matthews down near the bottom in recent Calder-winner GAR.  Which leads me to question GAR.

No matter what happens this series, I'll give the Dubas administration credit for the value spends in Bunting and Kampf.

I don't think Bunting wins the Calder due to the fact that he's close to retirement age, but he's definitely big value for the dollar.

Honestly I think even if Bunting were 21 years old Seider would still probably have the edge on him. He was arguably Detroit's MVP this season. 50 points, 23 minutes with tough usage/development, IIRC pretty good underlying numbers on a not-good team too. He was kinda thrust into the 1D by default but he still took it and ran.
