#sabres Andrej Sekera 4 years / 11 millions

$2.75M per for Sekera? Sabres have lost their minds.

-$2,395,357 cap space with only 21 players signed. Nice job there  ::)

There are rumours that Enroth has signed with a KHL team as well, so, so much upgrading their back up goalie.

I'm thinking maybe Kotalik gets the Finger treatment?  8) The new regime is there are pretty much spending like sailors on leave after all.

They're crazy if they let him go to the KHL if all he apparently wants is $750k.

The Sabres can carry 10% over the cap until the season starts. Morrisonn & Kotalik represent $5 mil that they're not likely to have when the season starts in my opinion (waived or traded). So they have ample room to sign Gragnani, Enroth and another while likely dumping Morrisonn & Kotalik before the season starts.

Well, if there's one thing we've seen from the Sabres in the Pegula era, it's sane contract valuations and sound reasoning in negotiations. ;D

I'm sure Tim Kennedy feels that way  ;)

Ty Conklin rerurns to the Red Wings.

"The team officially announced the signing Wednesday morning, a one-year contract that is expected to be worth less than $1 million."

I get the feeling that Buffalo is going to be a bit of a disappointment this year.

We said that about a crazy guy named Gillis a year or two ago though...

True, but I don't think he signed nearly as many low price performance (well, seemingly) contracts as the Sabres have this off-season.

MacArthur had a whopping 11 more points than Purcell. So, 11 points earns over $1 mil per year and an additional year to boot? Either Stevie Y got a huge bargain or Burke got hosed... or somewher in between perhaps. Or, 11 points means a heck of a lot more than I believe it does maybe.

MacArthur is a little older and Purcell a little less proven IMO.

When you're talking about the numbers we're talking about then 1 million per 11 points actually sounds pretty reasonable. Mac had 62 points and got 3.25. Purcell got 51 and got 2.whatever. I think 4.25 would be very reasonable for a 73 point a year guy and 5.25 for 84 extremely cheap. Could you get a 95 point player for 6.25?  Stamkos got 7.5 for 91.

I guess if you look at it that way maybe. I'd love to see Lupul hit 70 though.  8)
