New Rumour - Kyle Turris/Nazem Kadri

Kadri is only 1 year into translating his game to the pro level.  The extent to which he'll be able to do it still up in the air, but I think there's way too much upside there to trade for a player that's already matured to a mediocre level.
 
I thnk Kadri should be given a chance in earnest, to see what he can do, playing the full season ( or at least, to pass judgement on his play in the first-half).  I get the impression that Burke has never really adhered to liking Kadri from day one -- his size, discipline, etc., ?? -- and would probably not be averse to trading him should the occassion arise.
 
I hope this kid can put it together in the show.  I have some doubts, but I like his game...if he can translate it to the bigs.

Why the doubts? He's only played half a season in the minors and a half in the NHL - arguably being pulled up due to public pressure. He weighs next to nothing and he's barely 20 and being shuffled around position-wise. He's got world class hands and moves as well but in Toronto they eat their young and then complain about having no developing potential stars.  :P

I'm not the only one who has some doubts about Kadri's future prospects.

He's not exactly a well rounded player.

dont think BB will trade him yet ,he will give him a cpl seasons to make it ,if the kid has the big town nerves in check he certainly has promise. im hopeing colborne is a hugfe diamond in the ruff,if he turns out along with some of the other young ones he brought in things could be good in the smoke

No he's not but I thought we started to see some game breaking potential from him at the end of last year, he looks like he could be dangerous on left wing ( and likes to go to the net ) while avoiding some of the more, well, embarrassing 'junior' moments he had before. Unless there's something tangible coming back in a deal I'd rather give him a shot and see if he continues developing.
 
If there's any truth to this and Turris would sign for a reasonable amount ( though that 'character' question might get in the way ) Burke shouldn't trade a player of consequence to get just him, maybe expand it to include some kind of other prize.

Oh wait, it's not Bozak for Turris? Wrong thread, sorry.
