Official meeting place of the Kadri Cadre

Fully expected Kadri's deal to be on the other side of $3 million.  Good job by Nonis and great deal for the Leafs.  Will likely bite them in a couple years from now, but that could be worried about when the time comes.

Pretty much where I'm at. I'm also glad that it wasn't a 1-year deal, which will make next summer a little easier. I don't think we'll be that lucky with Franson though (in terms of the one year vs. two year term).

Kypreos saying it's going to be a 2 year deal, Kadri trying to get over $3 (think he said $3.5) but "that's not happening".

I think $3.5 is reasonable honestly. I think there's also a bit of an issue in regards to the cap - we still need to fit Franson. I think we just need to get over this hump year and wait for the cap to increase. Although a one year deal from Franson should get it done.

He isn't worth more than Couture who signed a year ago for $2.75 and $3 mil for two years respectively, when the cap was higher and he had 60 more NHL games played and almost double the NHL points of Kadri.

I think he has to take it on the chin a bit this year, sign for something like Couture and move on.  I would go with $2.5 this year and $3.5 next year. Helps the team a bit now and gives him a bit more next season.

Ok so was I closest? What do I win? Cookie?

Comparing his point totals in a shortened year to Tavares? Yeah, he's not getting anywhere near that money right now (or at least he shouldn't be).

He should get something like Tyler Ennis got - 2 years, 2.8 million hit.

The difference is this - everyone goes to those clubs to have a good time. It is safe to say that everyone goes to drink and that many will drink too much.

It's not really safe to say that. Or at least not accurate. Lots of people I know don't drink and still go to clubs for a number of reasons like enjoying music or enjoying dancing or having an interest in interacting with members of their preferred gender for possible romantic situations. It is not hard, in the least, for me to imagine why a wealthy young athlete might spend his weekends in a club even if he never drinks anything stronger than orange soda. While I'm not saying that's the case for Kadri, young people going to clubs on the weekend doesn't turn them into Brendan Behan, no matter how much the theatre scene would be improved by it.

But some go even further than that and many think that Nazem is in the latter group.

If I formed strong opinions every time I heard someone say "I saw Maple Leafs Player X at Toronto Venue Y doing something verboten Z" I would have to seriously readjust my negative perception of the team's performance over the last 20 years to a glowing admiration for the exceptional hockey they played despite having rosters of nothing but drunks, drug addicts and deviant sex fiends.

Stuff like that gets said. People big themselves up by talking about what they saw Maple Leafs do. It's pretty common in Toronto except for a few weeks in September when people start saying the same things about Jake Gylenhaal.
