I think I may the only person who has never listened to a single Beatles album front to back. I mean I know their songs, but never took in a whole album, same thing with the stones and led zeppelin. I keep saying to myself to listen to these discographies and I never get around to it.

I'm the same with the Beatles and the Stones (though I've listened to a couple.)

Listened to all of Led Zeppelin though. I was actually going to suggest them for this list.

I'm probably personally biased but I think one of the more remarkable careers in this sense is that of Damon Albarn's, first with Blur and then with Gorillaz. I personally don't think Blur made a bad album, with examples like Modern Life is Rubbish and The Great Escape being outright classics, and then after they were done he started actually making big radio hits with an animated vanity project.

RIP Charlie Watts.

I heard about this one a few years ago and it's still one of my favourite tales of the Stones. I always liked Charlie because he seemed so unimpressed with the whole fame game.

Must be huge blow for the band. Especially Keith because I've seen him say before that when things ever got too crazy, he'd always say, "as long as I've got Charlie, I'll be all right."

Seemed to be one of the nicest guys too. A sad shame today.

What a drag it is getting old...........

RIP

I've been thinking about this lately, and I think that is by design.

Hi all. I have a 12 year old nephew who's taking guitar lessons. I'm doing my Xmas shopping early and want to get him something economical for tuning. He's just using an acoustic guitar for now.

Do you know if something like this digital tuner would work?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003297367769.html
(browse incognito or you'll get spammed with Aliexpress ads until the end of time)

Do you have something else I could consider? (economical) I should add: I know nothing of instruments.

For an acoustic guitar, Snark tuners I think are the best bang for the buck: https://www.long-mcquade.com/73293/Guitars/Tuners/Snark/Super-Tight-Instrument-Tuner.htm

If it's an electric acoustic, maybe consider the Boss chromatic tuner (I still use a TU-2 to this day onstage), but for an acoustic only, the snark is great!

Yeah, Snarks are good. You could also consider an Apple or Android gift certificate if he's got a phone/tablet to use on of the better tuning apps.

Thanks! I knew this was a good place to come for help.  ;D

I wasn't sure if those apps were any good or just gimmicky.

Watching the Taylor Hawkins tribute gig from London and so good to see the remaining Rush members performing again! A band I never managed to see live and which I fully regret missing out on.

I also highly recommend a Snark. Inexpensive, really easy to use, compact. A really good bang for the buck gadget.

I don't want to upset you too much, but so was Milli Vanilli, who were created and produced by the same dude.

I mean come on that I knew. What I didn?t know is that it was the same guy behind both.
