You have to give Mark Stone a lot of credit.  15 goals and 38 points in the 36 games after the all-star break.  64 points overall on the season.

He's something like 3rd or 4th in league scoring since Jan 1.

Great to see Ottawa on this run to the playoffs....and having a hot goalie is a good way to enter the post season. 8) 8)

I can't believe we still stood a chance of missing with 97 pts. I was certain 95 pts would do it for a few weeks. This has got to be a record year for 8th place team's point totals? 3 maybe 4 teams with 90+ points missing the playoffs must be a record also? 5 CDN teams playoff bound is a record.

No LA in the West and no Bos or Pitt in the East - 2 of the last 3 Cup winners. Every team must like its chances.

I know we give you a hard time sometimes MF, but in all seriousness, I hope you get swept in crushing fashion.

I know I give you guys a hard time sometimes too, it's just that I've forgotten what it's like to cheer for an expansion team.

Thank-you hockey Gods for Mike Hammond - you are righteous and true. Never will I stop believing in you.
By now the Calder should be between Johnny Hockey and obviously I'm biased but I think Stone should win it.
Turris / Stone / Hammond / Karlsson carried this team into the playoffs.

Ekblad's numbers for a defenceman haven't been seen since an 18 year old Bobby Orr.

Playoffs is probably better than no playoffs when you are right on the edge of things but it's looking like Pittsburgh is going to leapfrog Ottawa and Detroit is on pace to win too. That puts Ottawa up against New York in the 1st round.  That's probably the worst matchup they could get.  If Pittsburgh loses and Detroit wins they would face Montreal.  If Pittsburgh and Detroit lose they face Tampa.

I don't think that it matters for the Sens.  They are playing really well.  I think they are giving up more shots than they would like, but they are getting timely scoring from all their lines, and Hammond is stopping everything.

The lowest the Sens can fall is to the first wildcard spot, so it looks like it could be Montreal.

Detroit won, so the Sens do get the 1st wildcard. So, it'll either be Montreal or Tbay for them in round 1.

Montreal goes to OT against Toronto and thus clinch the division

1M - New York vs. WC2 - Pittsburgh
1A - Montreal vs. WC1 - Ottawa
2M - Tampa vs. 3M - Detroit
2A - Washington vs. 3A - New York
