Buy me an arena and I'll totally invest in the team.  Honest.

Duchene scratched to be protected because he is expected to be traded. Currently the pick they traded to get him has the best chance to win the first pick overall. The Duchene trade is probably worst then the Kessel trade, at least we got to keep him a while and eventually flipped him for Kappi. I am interested to see what a Duchene trade will yield.

If that pick turns into Jack Hughes, and they receive nothing substantial back for Duchene, then yeah, it would be far worse than the Kessel deal.  You could make a case that it already is as Duchene has only played a season and a half there while Kessel was 6 years of productive hockey with the Leafs and like you mentioned we turned Kessel into Kapanen (and Andersen with that first round pick from the Pens)

I'm gonna laugh so hard if the sens' indecision here causes them to get nothing (or little) for Stone.

Dubas throws them a 4th round pick for Stone.

I think they re-sign him.  They need SOMEBODY to make more than league minimum / ELC to hit the cap floor.  Might as well be one of the best wingers in the game.  I think the main sticking point is probably percentage of the deal in bonus money and how much of that comes in the next two July's.

Every other GM: It's really difficult to make a trade these days. You can negotiate for weeks or months even and sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Dorian: Yeah, 3.5 days should be fine.

Colorado must be thrilled that the Sens are benching trade block players in Duchene, Stone and Dzingel.

Colorado can be as happy as they want but they haven't felt the wrath of the Oilers winning the draft lottery which is due again this year

This doesn't make sense in any way. Stone and Duchene were both assistant captains on the team. The sens tried hard to re-sign both players. Stone almost certainly would have been named captain if he re-signed. Why on earth would you make this claim?

Ok last one:

I don't care how many picks and prospects the sens get, Dorion is going to find a way to screw things up.

Yeah, none of it really makes sense. I think most hockey fans understand that rebuilding involves trading away players, so why make a big show of trying to say that you went all out to sign all of your UFA's? Is it a committed rebuild or not?

I actually feel bad for that fanbase.

This guy and Melnyk are likely the worst 2 guys in the league at PR.

I might have if the fans weren't such pricks back in the late 90s early 2000s
