Anyone hear anything about Winch?

MacLean confirmed a concussion.

Didn't see the hit, the radio guys on the post game seemed to think it was ugly.

Yeah it was ugly - Gaustad put him into the boards from behind....and of course no penalty on the play. I'm sure Shanahan will drop the ball on it tomorrow too. By my count that's incident #5 this year in terms of illegal hits / dirty hits on us..and not one suspension yet.

Spezza & Alfie continue to lead the charge in Michalek's absence - Spezza was easily the best player on the ice again...
Turris 7 for 9 in the circle...
Hopefully Shanahan addresses the Gaustad hit today...

I wonder if Ruff is going to last the season...

There is a bit of rumor going on here that Rundblad wouldn't report to the AHL and wanted to go back to Sweden prior to being traded.

leggz

To be honest it was just a cop out once I pressed reply and couldn't think of a Turris joke.

But to keep it on topic - I'm impressed by the sens this season.

Every hockey analyst I saw had the Sens finishing 14th or 15th in the conference this season.  I'm thinking the new coach has something to do with their good play so far.

Maybe.  They're really close to the Leafs in a lot of areas -
OTT is 30th in GA, 7th in GF, 24th in PK, 16th on PP.
Leafs are 26th GA, 8th in GF, 30th in PK, 2nd in PP.

I had us 12th I think...but there is still lots of time for the wheels to fall off.
Things look good moving forward though..

The Leafs are supposedly a team that has been slowly building up and ready to turn the corner and become a playoff team.  The Sens were supposed to be in a "full rebuild" and bottom out this year with only Spezza and an old Alfredsson to lead them.  So yes, the Sens might still drop down, but they're played way over everyone's expectations.

Boo-ya!  Was at this one...Sabres did not look too interested, I'm not sure what's up with Miller this year but he looked pretty ordinary..

Sabres not interested?  There's a cure for that.

They play us tomorrow.  Always brings out the best in em.

I don't understand why the Leafs have such a hard time with Buffalo.

Which was probably overstating things when looking at their roster now.  There was more there than just Spezza and Alfredsson - Michalek most importantly.  Then there are more veterans as well - Neil, Phillips, Gonchar, Kuba, and arguably Anderson even though he has not been great.

The Leafs aren't definitely in or out right now.  Most teams that slowly build their way up to being a better team face struggles along the way still, it doesn't just go from 0 to 60 (with a few exceptions).  It's entirely possible Ottawa falls off in the new year, but who knows.  There's enough veteran presence on that team, especially if Anderson gets on a roll.  We're in a time of extreme parity.

You and me both.

I can't remember the exact number but the Leafs had something like 1 win in 14 games in Buffalo at some point last year.  It doesn't make much sense.  You would think even dumb luck they'd win a couple.  And it's not as if the Sabres are or have been some super power or something.  Buffalo and Toronto have been pretty similar for a while.

Anyways, I just don't get it.

Well you guys should be able to take care of business tomorrow night - Sabres look done mentally on top of their depleted roster.

I thought we outplayed them last game - but once again penalties did us in.
