Official Ottawa Senators Thread

That Sens logo, the "O" in the middle, could very well stand for "0" improvement!  :o

Don't like it at all.  The Senator with the bold look was much better.  Also, the shoulder patches -- are those what look like police badges??  The Parliament buildings outline was far superior.

they tried a crest showing real Canadian senators but nobody liked the picture of a rich old man sleeping on their jersey.

3 gentlemen

Turns out Jared Cowen is the badass.  Who knew?

Won't get too excited though.  Remember a few years ago when Redden got in two fights in one preseason game against the Leafs, then went on to suck as bad as ever?

It's divided loyalty. I don't know a lot of Sens fans back home, but they will be for this 1 game. Greening playing in his home town. Also, the 1st HNIC game to be broadcast from Newfoundland, not the 1st NHL game as Bob Cole has been saying. There have been several exhibition games played at Mile One.

Yeah true, I can think of at least three off the top of my head.

I can think of a couple back when I sat in the Memorial Stadium and Mile One press boxes covering the Baby Leafs. I was excited to see the crowd today, but I so wanted to be there myself.

Tonight's lineup:

    Greening-Spezza-Filatov
    Foligno-Regin-Condra
    Hoffman-Zibanejad-Butler
    Daugavins-Smith-Neil

    Gonchar-Borowiecki
    Cowen-Karlsson
    Rundblad-Lee

    Lehner <full 60>

No update on Regin's injury but a couple people suggesting it could be long term. Saw it up close and it certainly didn't look good.

Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks, but I've read a number of people saying they got the impression it would be a lengthy recovery.  I believe it's the same shoulder that had him out for so long last year.  Tough luck for Regin, he's shown a lot of promise and really needed to rebound from last year.  He was basically going to get the second line centre spot by default and get a lot of time with scoring wingers.  I doubt it will be waiting for him when he gets back.

Preseason finale tonight against the Bs:

    Greening-Spezza-Filatov
    Michalek-Zibanejad-Alfredsson
    Foligno-Smith-Butler
    Condra-Konopka-Neil
