4 points away from the second pick....... still hoping!

HUGE night for Tank Nation... a loss still leaves a chance at the #2 pick... a win and then there is a good chance for #9.  Ugh.

Carlolina over Leafs
Isles over Pittsburgh
TB over Boston
Montreal over Florida
Minnesota over Rangers

.........please.  ;)

I'm making a proline ticket with Leafs, Pens, Bruins, Panthers, and Rangers... this way I won't be dissappointed when we muck it up!

Wow.  The gods would really have to be with us for all of those games to go our way.

And if I were a betting man I would say none of them happen.

Tampa loses. 77 pts.
Carolina wins. 77 pts.
Leafs lose. 75 pts.
Isles win. 75 pts.
Habs lose in shootout. 72 pts.
Minny loses. 72 pts.

Looks like the Leafs are tied for the 5th overall pick with the Isles.

Three more clunkers like this at the ACC and Burke could be in real peril.

I highly doubt some bad games at the ACC at the end of the season are going to cost him his job.  He'll have the chance to pick high and go into next season.

Not if this article is to be believed:

Efficient may not be a popular word right now when it comes to the Maple Leafs and their general manager, Brian Burke, but the board has no plans to fire him.

At the very least, I have to think Burke gets a full season with Carlyle behind the bench before his job begins to become in jeopardy.

According to some mocks, Faska should be available in the 8-12 range. Seems we could have him with little trouble. Anyone know anything about him?

I'm going to the Rangers game tomorrow night so I'll scout him and Murphy and let you know. :)

Beauty!... and thanks for the profiles, Carlton.

D'oh, Murphy already drafted last year. I missed that. Faksa had an unremarkable night. Further research is needed. :) He looked pretty good on the blue line on the PP, kinda reminded me of Grabo the way he handles himself. Other than that he was pretty much part of the background.

I was impressed by Michael Catenacci, surprised he hasn't been drafted. Small package but tons of heart, a real firestorm on the ice, and good with the puck around the net....very patient. Also you could see his rallying effect on the team, a true captain. Would be a great late pick I think, if everyone else passes him by again.

I also liked Cody Sol. Big defenseman, still a little Antropovish looking fragility to his size, but once he fills in, watch out, that guy will be clearing the front of the net with the best of them.

Anyway fun game, had front row seats for a good look :) I heard Burke was at the game too.

Hmm, small, undrafted Kitchener Rangers forward.  Az it is, I feel like I've heard of someone like that before....

So what, the bottom line is nothing ventured, nothing gained. Why is it we have no problem signing US college players who have the same (if not higher) risk?

It was just a shot at the great Justin Azevedo, who was a big topic of discussion around here when he was drafted.
