Okay, I need help on downloading...

I don't agree. I've found some fairly random and obscure stuff on sites like the now deceased btjunkie.org or on sites like ISOHunt.

Well, leaving aside that we may have differing opinions as to what qualifies as obscure I'm just saying that you may have to look harder for some things.

Well, yeah, if you're willing to pay for the premium accounts, you'll get better speeds, but, good torrent sites get you the same stuff without a huge time difference for free. It generally takes me 15-20 minutes to download hour long TV shows.

15-20 minutes vs. 2-4 minutes per 400MB is a huge difference when you are downloading bigger things than single episodes in divx format, some prefer to get the 720p+ files.

Maybe things have changed since I stopped with torrents, but I also found that if I went to download something right when a torrent is put up, it takes some time for that torrent to get up to speed since it starts with 1 seed and a bunch of leechers who don't have any of the file yet.

Maybe I'm impatient, and I probably have different downloading habits than you, but I find the fee for a premium account worth every penny.

I'm so lucky. I just tell my son 'find <episode> of <show, usually MASH> for me will you please?" and in an hour or so, I check my harddrive and the transfer has been made :-)

I love that kid.

3 Seasons of Dexter on Netflix. I wouldn't need to use a torrent site for seasons 4-6.

But.....the darkness inside me gets me every time.

::)  ;D

To watch something, i just bought a a 12' HDMI cable and plug it into my laptop and then into the TV. Easy enough, no jumpdrive or external HD needed.

That's what mIRC is for!

Now that's old school, baby.

You can pick up a media player off ebay to watch movies without burning too. They're not that expensive. It comes with an HDMI cable, remote and other cables.

You just watch right off of your flash drive.....

There's probably cheaper ones than that but I picked one up and it works great.

It plays files that my PS3 won't play so it's been fantastic for me.

Same here. You can get them pretty darn cheap at monoprice.com too.
