I'm with Guilt Trip on this one. Looks to me like he simply fell on top of him. I'm guessing the commentator here has never been in a fight. He most certainly did not intentionally ram his head into the ice.

Disagree, that's a reach. He didn't drive his head into the ice. The momentum of the kid going down and OV having a hold on his jersey caused that. OV did nothing wrong here. Unfortunate the kid got hurt.

I don't mean he literally drove his head into the ice. Bad wording on my part. I meant that Ovechkin has plenty of time to hold up on that last punch, the kid was dropping. Ovechkin's job in that case in my opinion is to hold onto him to try and prevent the head slam.

All that aside, it is pretty stupid that fighting is allowed. Joe Thornton gets suspended for a shoulder to the head, but 9 or 10 punches to the face is a 5 minute, then you go free again.

wow, what a d*** move by Ovechkin... hard deliberate slash with just over a minute to go. Knows he's gonna get a penalty and does a mock applause at the ref. Dumbass deserves to be suspended for that. And wouldn't that look good if they ended up losing game 7 because their captain can't control his temper.

Based on regular season, I'd agree, but this is the playoffs and based on them, I'd rather play T Bay. No one knows how it would have worked out for the Leafs so there's no use speculating.
