Bernier's not that bad, but he's not that good either. They're rebuilding. At this point keeping him or trading him doesn't really matter. As with any other player on this roster, if the right deal comes along, why the heck not?

Exactly, we don't need any kind of a goalie, good, bad or indifferent for the next two seasons and after all, if Bernier was the second coming of Jacques Plante, he would have made more of a difference this season and he would be burned out beyond salvation in another year or two with this crew anyway.

Trade him when you can, get what you can while you can and yes, it should have been done at the trade deadline.

Man, the best thing that I could have said about the 1st period was that Bernier didn't allow a terrible goal in the first 5 minutes. Guess he was saving those for when I turned the game off.

Bernier's just not that good.  I mean not bad and on a good team I'm sure he's fine but he's not remotely close to the Carey Price "carry a mediocre team far above their heads" calibre.  In fact I might actually argue that the guy is pretty mediocre for a good starter.  He hasn't shown any consistency over his career thus far.

It could be argued Huberdeau made a perfect shot but the other two tonight were stoppable and took the wind out of their sails some. It looked like the Leafs were in the mood to compete- Kessel, JvR & Bozak actually had a little jump.

I find goalies are most unpredictable and can blow hot and cold. I don't have volumes of confidence in Bernier. Have my doubts he's "the answer" so I wouldn't object to them trading him depending on the return. Don't mind him either as a good attitude as long as they keep his contract term fairly short.

If he hangs around, he's likely to see a lot of rubber over the next season or two.
