He's big.  He skates around a lot.  No idea what the advanced stats say about him but like most of our bottom 6 he doesn't seem to move the needle much, if at all.

Team leading 64.29 CF% and 75.09 xGF. I suspect he won't keep putting up Patrice Bergeron-like on ice results but he's certainly given the 3rd line a much needed spark.

What sort of needle moving are you hoping for out of your bottom 6? As far as I'm concerned, as long as the needle stays level and doesn't drop, they've done their job.

Also, the Leafs' bottom 6 production isn't that far out of line from other top teams. It could be a bit better, sure, but there's maybe one or two teams that can't say that. Where the team is really lacking in production right now is from the blueline, but, outside of Rielly suddenly not being able to score anymore, there wasn't much to be expected from them, any way, and their focus has been on preventing goals - which, they've largely done a good job at.

Bottom 6 production would be a huge issue if the team didn't have two 1st lines, but, you know, they do.

Nick Paul.  Nick Paul is what I am hoping for. Or, to be precise, a Nick Paul-like performance from someone.

Meaning, I want a bottom 6 like Tampa's last year.  Or, minimum, a bottom 6 where there's at least a reasonable possibility that one or more can step up and score a big goal in the playoffs when the top 6 get shut down ... as they have been, for stretches.

Is McMann that guy?  Engvall, maybe?  I mean, I like the defense our bottom 6 has (for the most part) contributed this year.  I love K?mpf.  But none of these guys look like they can pick up the slack if needed.
