Sooo satisfying after a bunch of OT/SO losses.

So really good things happen when Babcock decides to line up Gardiner-Carrick with Matthews' line, instead of Hunwick-Polak. Hunlak does a bit better against softer competition too.

Loudest cheer I've given this year! Marner-bug avoids the poke-check and Gards great finish!

Same here. Then I was worried I had woken up the kids. Guess it needs to be the playoffs to wake those guys up.

My eyes tell me that Carrick was getting beaten all over the place last night.

Your eyes did not deceive and Carrick did have spots of trouble; it wasn't the entire game though, and he was matched up hard against Malkin-Kessel.

As a group, Gardiner-Carrick, Hyman-Matthews-Nylander pretty much stuffed the Malkin line in shot attempts and scoring chances. Hunlak had a small chunk of minutes with the Matthews line as well and did very well (70% CF together), while Gardiner-Carrick had 3x the TOI together and had twice the number of events (40-44% CF%)

x2!  Great game, great finish!  How those Leafs skated toe to toe with Crosby et al speaks volumes about the roster and makes a statements attesting to the young talent & speed this team showcases.

Sorry Mr. Crosby, not this time!

Hopefully a confidence booster to finish the OT games with more wins.  Marner made an unbelievable play at the end, that was real digging

I'm sure I said something like this when the Penguins were here last year but any Leafs fan who boos Phil Kessel now, now that the fruits of his trade look pretty effin' good for the team, really needs to examine their life choices.

It's disappointing too because he's not really doing much differently in Pittsburgh than he did in Toronto.  That final half season under the idiot squad was a trainwreck for everyone.  It's not like he dogged it to get a trade and then started playing hard in Pittsburgh.  He was a PPG-ish player in Toronto and he's a PPG-ish player in Pittsburgh.
