They'll probably get destroyed after I say this, but I think I can see some more noticeable improvements in the Leafs getting the puck out and keeping it in the Pens zone.

It may feel that way, but, it's not playing out that way:

mirtle: The Corsi Report? tonight: Penguins 32, Leafs 11. That's not good for Toronto.

I think the difference is more what they're doing with the puck when they get it in the offensive zone rather than how much they're getting and keeping it there.

That's quite interesting then. Not saying it was even close to perfect in any way, but it definitely seemed more controlled and composed and effective

But I also felt like Pittsburgh shot the puck every time they crossed the blueline that period.

They're definitely more focused on putting the puck on net rather than establishing zone time, but, at the same time, the numbers don't really support the idea that the Leafs are keeping it the offensive zone more.

Oh no doubt. I just thought that period to me could be one where the numbers were skewed somewhat or at least it felt that way watching it. But I suppose that's what the numbers are for in the end.

Certainly possible, but, with that dramatic a difference in the numbers . . . well, you know.

Kadri down low and open for a fantastic one-timer opportunity.  Nah, Clarkson's going to take a contested long wrist shot instead.

Why does Clarkson not pass to Kadri there. Man he has zero vision whatsoever.

Leafs need a goal soon or they may be a letdown.

Truly that was one of many occasions the past few games where Kadri has a goal if he's playing with anyone but that blackhole.

When Polak, Winnik, and Komarov are out there on the penalty kill, we are in good hands.

Holland's been good too. Surprises the other team with offensive rushes rather than just dumping the puck.

Yep.  & He just bested Geno on that shift.  Impressive.
