Phil Kessel

Kessel's going to score 7 points in his next 4 games now. He's just going to torch Montreal tomorrow night as well. Such is such for a streaky player like Kessel.

I would have no objections to seeing a Kessel hattrick tomorrow night.

Agreed that would be sweet, I'll bet the the Habs are thinking he could be a problem, now that he is scoring again.

I have no objections if Phil scores a ton tomorrow night but last night was a different story  :-\

I can't believe you took that bet.... ;D
You and me both but it made the game more exciting , I'm sure Rob was little worried almost until the end  :)

For what it's worth, Iginla and Hemsky have been on the trading block and their GM's have supposedly been listening to offers since 2010

Not much of an endorsement of either player, is it?

Or it leans towards the media and Dreger making stuff up to get hits on their websites and viewers to their station.

Feaster repeatedly said that he wasn't trading Iginla but TSN/Sportsnet and the rest of the sporting world ran with it because it was selling to the fans...

Got to say, Kessel handled his scoreless drought with a lot of class. Never complained, kept working hard. Showed a fine attitude.

They can say all they want about Seguin and Hamilton, Boston just lucked out on that, but it doesn't diminish Kessel as a player in my mind. When he's on the ice, he always dangerous on offence, he's got that skill that keeps your eyes glued on him. The other team is always keying on him. I'd take him over Seguin.

PLus the kid has overcome cancer. And, he says he enjoys playing in Toronto despite all the unfair abuse he's taken. It would be nice if fans actually started to support him.

if i was Kessel i wouldn't want to come back to toronto. constantly being ripped on by the media and fans, i would want go somewhere where i'm wanted and not being scrutinized because i haven't scored in two games.

After Montreal game Kessel is the leading scorer of Toronto Maple Leafs with 10 pts (2+8) in 12 games.

Oh no, Kessel only scored 2 goals!... oh wait, he's the leading scorer? Carry on.

And people wonder why the Leafs can't win at home.

Yeah, imagine them chanting "Phil," if he scored the game winning goal at home. Instead we get "Let's go Blue Jays." Sad really...

I said this in the game day thread, but I think it's absolutely ridiculous to blame the fans for the Leafs poor performance at home.

The fans are paying hundreds of dollars to get in to watch these millionaires play, and you're saying that its THEIR job to get the team up for a hockey game? If that's the case, seems to me the team should be paying the fans, not the other way around.

If the Leafs want a good crowd, they should play a good game.
