Nobody said that. The issue is not trying someone different then what was put out there game after game.Alex Steeves lol. Like do we really think that was the solution?

They're certainly making tidy work of Carolina...Barkov got 2g 1a in the last night's 6-2 thumping.Maybe Florida are just really good?
At this point it seems the west is playing to see who gets steamrolled by the Panthers. LolThey're certainly making tidy work of Carolina...Barkov got 2g 1a in the last night's 6-2 thumping.
That they should hide players in LTIR and hope for a drug suspension vacation?Ok so what’s the lesson the Leafs oughta take from being least quickly steamrolled by Florida?

You forgot "and make sure to apologize because surely, how could a sweetheart like Sam Bennett ever intentionally hurt someone"....Also, give the opposing goalie a solid forearm shiver so he's puking his guts out on the bench.
Framed like that, there could be a lesson. I don't think most Leafs fans and media would want to hear it. Because if you assume that Florida is the best team, then instead of the distance between the Leafs and serious, viable contention being 2 more rounds of playoffs, it's win 1 more game in a 7 game series. If that were the case, then the round in which the Leafs lost to Florida ins't a good indicator of the state of the team. Making decisions based on the frustration of years past would be foolish.Ok so what’s the lesson the Leafs oughta take from being least quickly steamrolled by Florida?
Imagine if Florida had looked at their 2022 playoffs the way you're suggesting we ought to look at the Leafs' 2025...Framed like that, there could be a lesson. Maybe best for everyone if Carolina can come back and make a series out of the Eastern Conference final. My torches and pitchforks were non refundable.

Florida got swept in the 2022 Playoffs. It's indicative of the current mood that you're suggesting the two are equivalent.Imagine if Florida had looked at their 2022 playoffs the way you're suggesting we ought to look at the Leafs' 2025...
I think the best way to avoid the previously common-place Marner power failure in games 5-7 is to just win the series in 4.
That was a garbage trade for Calgary at the time and done by none other than the amazing GM the leafs have now.Florida got swept in the 2022 Playoffs. It's indicative of the current mood that you're suggesting the two are equivalent.
It's not like Florida spent the summer of 2022 blowing up their roster either. They made the big Huberdeau for Tkachuk trade. Otherwise, 7 of their top 10 scorers were the same in 2023 (and 8 of 2023's top 10 are still there). Their #1 Dman is the same. Their #1 goalie is the same.
If there is an equivalent to the Huberdeau - Tkachuk deal to be done, I'm not advocating against it when I answer your question of "what can the Leafs take from being the least quickly steamrolled" by saying that maybe your question is worth actually considering.
That was a garbage trade for Calgary at the time and done by none other than the amazing GM the leafs have now.
To be fair, Tkachuk told Calgary he wasn't signing.
And the only reason Calgary got anything back was because Tkachuk made his intentions clear and provided options.
Thread of data
Same data visualized a bit
And then we have Marner not doing this.
