Time to trade a forward for some D. Hmmmm. Which forward. Which forward?

Nylander, please

Should never have signed him. Overpaid and selfish definitely not a team player. I don't know how much time it takes to get in shape but if your training hard prior to signing and working out at the same time then shouldn't take you this long to start showing your talents. Hasn't done s**t so far and as afar as I'm concerned has had enough time.

The callback was probably the turning point in the game, but it's indicative that the last PK was our best sequence after that.

The Leafs? pp has been really predictable for a long time. They?ve got everyone playing essentially stationary, which is both ineffective and crazy for a team with this much skill. Matthews and Marner should be constantly moving to open up seams but they aren?t.

It?s a coaching problem.

Has to be Matthews!  Nylander's new contract is too much of a bargain to trade.  ::)

Meh... we could have scored 4. Frustrating game.

Nylander got market value cap hit and yes is having a rough start. Unless he had stroke we don't know about he'll come around.

It's hard to not to blame the coaching when this group of forwards doesn't have any chemistry and PP doesn't score. Babs doesn't even get credit for Tavares/Marner combo because hell, Martin had good chemistry with Marner.

Here's a ridiculous comment, I want more from Tavares. Do something outside of scoring goals. We were not looking for a JVR replacement when we signed Tavares at 11M. Marner is creating everything, not Tavares. I don't think Tavares should require a Marner to make things happen. Maybe break these two up?

Break up Marner / Tavares?  So where does Marner play?  With Matthews or Kadri?  If either of the 2 above options wouldn't you have the same argument of "I don't think Matthews/Kadri should require a Marner to make things happen".

MLHS is so good at these game reviews.

Are you kidding me? You seriously think it's all Marner and JT is riding his coattails? Not taking anything away from Mitch because wth could you complain about, but JT has had a big impact on Mitch's season. They BOTH benefit from playing with each other.

I see the puck on Marner's stick the majority of the time.

Both these players can carry a line, the other 3 lines need help. Let's see what they can do separately. Spread the wealth.

I wouldn't go blaming Nylander solely for the Leafs current woes.

The Leafs have become perhaps slightly 'predictable'.  They'll need to improvise with the PP unit(s) in order to create and capitalize on chances.

Also, the Leafs D would do well to take a few more point shots, instead of wristers or deflections.  Top teams such as the Predators have point shooting ddefencemen that utilize and exploit this angle frequently.
