You gotta go back to Smithson-McClement after a goal, obviously.

I wasn't paying attention. Tell me you're kidding. Please.

They did an exceptional job of playing in the neutral zone and wasting a minute.

I got here late but reading back thru the GDT I'm getting the Carlyle-is-holding-us-back-for-no-good-reason vibe.

name me one team that has come back from a 4-1 deficit in the third period. its impossible. name one. just one.

Phaneuf has really had a poor year in the offensive zone along the blueline.  He's really slow at moving laterally along the ice to try and keep the puck in the zone.  Very slow.  He actually seems a lot slower than previous years.  I don't know if it is the strain of his defensive minutes or what but there is very little of that that speed that he had even a year ago.

If anything that 3 mins with the en showed just how poorly the entire leafs defense is at holding the blueline

Basically the same issues as every other night, combined with some really puzzling new line combos in the 3rd and a loss. So, yeah, Carlyle!

Franson and Gardiner are good at it.  The rest of the team, not so much.

Defensively he continues to get better, but on the other end of things he's definitely lost a lot of his old flare.

On the brighter side of things Rielly now has 8 points in 17 games. Pro-rated over 82 games, that's just under a 40 point pace.
