Predators vs. Maple Leafs - Oct. 28th, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

Sammy was better last night but Saros was the better goalie.  Leafs were the better team and probably should have come away with two points but taking 3 of 4 points in consecutive games while on the road and losing a defenseman in both games is a good result.  3-1-1 on a road trip is a good effort.

Still a lot of things to clean up.


I get what Matthews was trying and it was bad luck that the puck hit Rielly's leg otherwise he was getting hauled down or in all alone.  I think you can criticize it a little bit though that they Leafs have bad instincts on 3 on 3 a lot.  Guys staying on the ice too long and not maximizing puck possession.  Also maybe we can stop starting Kampf at 3 on 3 while he has a 42% faceoff percentage

Can't fault Samsonov for not being able to stop a Josi blast when he

Yes, it was Rielly's stupid leg that ruined the play. How dare anyone besmirch my dear Auston.
 
One of those games where it felt like we could have buried them early and didn't capitalize when the going was good. A better game for Sammy but not at all a confident-looking game. He was swimming a lot in his crease. Hopefully, it's a game he builds on.

2 bench minors are too many.
 
I hate to be negative, but I wish the Leafs would ditch those awful jerseys, difficult to make out the numbers on the back of the players. I guess they were good for Halloween.  They always seem to lose when they were it?
