R1G1: Leafs @ Bruins - May 1st, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Be real though, their jerseys are reversed there and you're giving JVR crap for that "Accidental" tap.

Yeah. JvR egged him on there, for sure, but, a bit of excessive reaction from Marchand. Confront him, don't take a vicious two-hander at him. If Marchand connects on that, it would likely have resulted in a substantial suspension.

The Leafs are without Phil Kessel, Cody Franson and Mike Kostka at today's practice

I can see Kostka or Franson, but Kessel? Didn't look like Phil got injured.

Oh dear. I think something is awry.

I did see him taping his wrist and one point, but I figured that maybe it was something relatively standard (like how some football players tape their fingers or wrists to avoid sprains)

Kessel messed up his wrist, Franson messed up his foot so probably just rest for those two guys, and Kostka was probably banished.

That's alright, Kessel won't need his wrist to shoot in this series anyway.

Thanks for this. Maybe maintenance? Hmmm

During the American broadcast last night, they mentioned Kessel looked physically hurt twice, once he hurt his leg going into the net and the other time they said he took a vicious slash, he had his head planted on the boards in pain when he came back to the bench after the slash.

Marchand is such a puke. I hope we lay him out for the rest of the series.

Marchand's got the reach of a hobbit, probably the only reason why he missed.

Nope. He missed because at the very last second he realized that Orr and McLaren were on the bench and the thought of them pushing and shoving him made him re-think life.

Because, you know, they are on the team to stop that very thing from happening. And they're obviously succeeding since they keep playing.

No, I agree. I'm just saying that if it were Marchand who tapped and JVR who swung I think we'd all think the tap was evidence of "being a puke".

I was impressed with JVR, Kessel, Grabs, Komarov and Orr.  Unimpressed with MacArthur, Kostka, and Kadri.  I would leave Kadri in the line up but replace MacArthur with Frattin who tore it up last year in the Marlies playoffs and replace Kostka with O'Byrne who hits, blocks shots and did alright even though most here seemed to have a hate-on for him.

I would move Kadri to the wing and get Komarov back to the center. Something like this:

JVR / Bozak / Kessel
Lupul / Grabovski / Kadri
Frattin / Komarov / Kulemin
McLaren / McClement / Orr

Gunnarsson / Phaneuf
Liles / O'Byrne
Fraser / Franson

If Bozak is hurt then I would put
Grabovksi 1C,
McClement 2C,
Colborne 3C,
Komarov 4C.

It is also based on reputations

Probably, though Marchand has much more of a track record for people to back up that assessment of him with. To say it about JvR involves a little more homerism. It was a jerk move on JvR's part, but, an isolated one.

Thanks for this. Didn't know any of this. People are going postal on Twitter lol.

I appreciate that JVR did this. If anyone else remembers in the 3rd when he purposely went into Rask after the whistle. We need this sort of thing from our players. Get in their faces and aggravate. It works.

@jonasTSN1050

Kostka suffered a broken bone in one of his fingers and is out. One or both of Jake Gardiner and Ryan O'Byrne will step in.

Also Carlyle says the 4th line "earns its ice-time" so doesn't sound like they're changing on that front.
