Line-up Notes

TOR
?Projected lines are from Friday's practice
?Kostka is out with a finger injury
?Gardiner looks set to re-join the line-up, and there's a chance O'Byrne may join him as well which would likely bump Liles from the top-6

BOS
?The Bruins shuffled up their defence corps in the wake of Andrew Ference's one-game suspension. Dougie Hamilton will enter the line-up and the top pairing of Chara-Seidenberg may be split
?Rich Peverley took Kaspars Daugavin spot on the 3rd line at practice Friday, and will likely play after being a healthy scratch in game 1

Great job once again, CarltonTheBear. Thanks so much for doing these.  :)

Not sure why they wouldn't play Colborne and see if maybe he can provide a little something extra against the team that gave him up.  That seems to me to be more valuable than Orr or even Hamiltion at this point.

looking at the stats leaders, why is Kessel's name there so often?  I thought he was a horrible forward, fit for trade bait.

if the islanders can do it...

I was thinking the same thing.

Actually I dont think the Buds played too badly. They just got unlucky. If Kostka doesn't screen Reimer on the first goal and the JVR shot hits the post and goes in the Leafs are up 2-0 going in to the 2nd and BOS and the TD centre are quiet and in panic mode.

I detest those line combos, total waste of Kadri.  He seriously can't be going with that and must have been using some kind of odd deception at practice.

Kadri needs to try to do less tomorrow night, rather than forcing the play -- no matter what line he's on.  He needs to play like he did in the first few games of the year -- throwing hits, driving the net, cycling the puck.  Later, when he got really hot, he was getting more room on the ice, room that he'll never get in the playoffs.  The best thing for him would be to get a dirty goal rather than trying to make the pretty play.

I predict the post game talk will be about not critiquing a win, as opposed to complaining about too many turnovers.

Leafs by 1 in OT. Not the pretty way.

As long as the effort is there I think we win tonight.

Would be nice to see Frattin in over Orr

I do like JVR/Graboski/Kulemin, their styles are more complimentary and should be able to get a few cycles going

Leafs need to use their speed and creativity, they can't play hard-nosed Bruin type hockey against the Bruins although against a team like the Habs who also rely on their speed it has worked for them.  They need to sit Orr as well and insert Frattin, Gardiner will help, put every offensive weapon in that you can.

I agree, Frattin hits everything on the ice when he is out there...and can put the puck in the net as we all know..What is it with Orr..he is not a future part of what this team will be...Play Colbourne as well...at least Gardner is in. Thanks god.
