R1G2: Leafs @ Bruins - May 4th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

Lupul had a very strong period.  He seems so committed, and is a threat when he touches the puck.  And Kadri had a better period than he did last game.

Phaneof is really a puzzle out there.  He made at least three mental mistakes that period by yelling out at Reimer to leave the puck behind the net,  by chasing Marchand into the corner while the puck carrier went right to the net, and by taking a stupid penalty.  Even though it shouldn't have been called, he just isn't good enough to continue to stretch the envelope by hitting guys after the whistle, even if it is Marchand.  The more that we see Gardiner and Gunner and Franson out there (instead of our fearless captain), the better the Leafs chances are, IMHO.

Thank heavens the second referee called the even-up penalty at the end of the period, as it was the last game when Phaneof got the penalty at the end of the first period that cost them the lead and really hurt their chances then.

Blame Fraser for the goal. Turnover at the blue line. Franson to but Fraser put him in a sh***y position with that cross ice pass with a couple Bruins on him. Dump the puck in. Instead they give it away. I hate Fraser. No idea why he's playing. Then to boot Carlyle puts him with Franson who are probably the 2 slowest d men. As I'm letting some frustration out we tie it up.

I see the "Grabovski is fair game" rule is still in effect. The Lucic hit was legal, but the 2nd time he got knocked down was definitely interference.

People who criticize Grabovski are crazy.  You can't win in the playoffs without guys like him who take it and keep on coming back.
