R1G3: Bruins @ Leafs - May 6th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Huge game Wednesday.  No way we come back from 3-1.  I just hope we can come out with an effort like tonight, the 3rd was promising we attacked hard.  A save here, a bounce there and we could've won it despite the turnovers (some of which I hope are gone with O'Burn).

Sucks that if not for a couple of bone-headed turnovers we'd be right in this game :(

The O'Burn one really stands out as unnecessary and it would be a one goal game without it

Time for Liles to come back

Not even sure why he's even out of the lineup. Quicker than Fraser and O'Byrne, veteran and can move the puck. 3 reasons why he should be playing. Only RC knows.

Well, up until the great shift from BOS we played a great 3rd.  Just couldn't catch a break tonight.  Good effort in the last period ... it's all a learning experience.

That was exactly what I was hoping for, good third period

Baby steps, I know... I guess I'll have to keep trying to remember that.

Gardiner had a great game.  Mistakes for sure but he's been dominant with the rush at times.

He has definitely shown an ability to gain some space in the Bruins zone especially in the 3rd.

Liles has to come in for either Fraser or O'Byrne next game.

Fraser. Please for the love of god Fraser.

I think the O'Byrne turnover was the worst play.  As I said Fraser at least forced his man outside, if you watch the play we stood a chance if Gunnar coming back took the pass or the other man.

Rask was the story tonight.  Our D is just not playing to the level a playoff D needs to play. 11 goals against in 3 games is not going to win you many playoff games and no I am not blaming Reimer.

Him and Franson looked incredible in the third when they got paired together. It's too bad it took Carlyle 50 games to break up that Fraser-Franson pairing. I know they looked good at first, but everybody knew why (they were playing against the weakest opposition). Fraser just can't keep up with the top players.

He makes mistakes but I agree what he brings to the table offensively makes up for it. Could not understand Carlyle's stubborness to play him.

Yeah I wouldn't blame Reimer either but Rask was better simple as that.

The other thing is that tonight the Leafs hit the posts twice, on Saturday as well plus crossbar...

I'll just say, a win on Weds and I'll count the series as a positive no matter what the outcome.  We're holding our own against a much more experienced team with a top-notch D corps.  The score doesn't indicate it but our effort tonight was way above Game 1.

I really like Fraser as a 7th D-Man who sits in the pressbox for most of the season but comes in against slower plodding teams.  The Leafs have a speed advantage against Boston but the Bruins aren't slow and they are very quick on the transition rush.  Fraser can't handle that.

Phaneuf-Gunnarsson
Franson-Gardiner
Liles-OByrne (only because there isn't a better option for Liles).

All three lines need to be able to start the offensive transition.
