Going to miss this, have a teacher of the year awards ceremony to attend, bleh!

Will DVR it, I hope curiosity doesn't get the better of me before I get to watch it.

So after watching the games tonight, I'm pretty sure the Leafs are playing the best team in the East, by a considerable margin.

If and it's a massive if, we can get past the b's, we could go to the finals.

We did meet the worst possible matchup

Im guessing The Leafs would have been ahead in a series against the Habs had they met. I'm wondering though, if facing the Bruins is actually better long term for the development of this young team. I'm not saying its over yet, but if they lose they make the proper off season adjustments and personnel changes that reflect what was missing against a very tough opponent. (maybe the best in the East or the league this year) They figure out what ultimately caused the loss, and make the team more playoff worthy for the next time round.

On the more immediate positive side, that can all be cancelled out if they can pull off the upset and 'slay the dragon' (as one poster put it) the first time around.  ;D

Anyways....GLG!!

Yeah it's pretty disappointing, not gonna lie.

The East looks as wide open this year as one could have hoped for, and getting the right matchup in the 1st round was everything.

Not that it makes a difference but I was surprised at how many fans were indifferent about the Bruins matchup.

Despite a couple of not-so-pretty scores on the board, the Leafs have been in every game and I expect no different for Game 4.

I'm actually feeling like the Leafs win this one. It may be their last win of the season, but for some reason, I think they go back to Boston tied 2-2.

Hopefully the linesmen let Bozak take a few faceoffs, hopefully Kadri shows up and hopefully Reimer continues to be steady. He was outplayed by Rask last game, but overall they've been pretty much a wash in the series.

I'm one of those.  After all, if BOS is that far ahead of the rest of the pack (I'm not convinced they are), we'd have to meet them sooner or later on the way.  In some ways, I think it's better to meet them in the first round.  A really solid team finds a groove in the playoffs ... the chances for an upset seem greater in the 1st round.

Which I don't think is in the cards for us -- too inexperienced.  That said, I expect a close game tomorrow and believe we'll pull it out.

EDIT: Just saw your post Bonsixx -- you took the words out of my mouth, with your middle paragraph.  Exactly how I feel: we win tomorrow, but Bruins in 6.

I don't consider them far ahead of the pack either, but I think they're one of the teams the Leafs matched up to most unfavourably.

I'm not so sure it would be a foregone conclusion that we'd face them later on either. Don't forget, the Bruins finished the season in a terrible slump and getting the Leafs was the best possible outcome. Against another team, their odds might've been 50/50.

I'm with Burke on this one. I don't think getting slapped down in the first round does much good in terms of development.

With that said, Go Leafs Go!!!

I really don't think Boston has been that far superior in series.. We have made a ton of glaring errors with turnovers and bad coverage. But a post we hit here or there and we could be a bit closer.. Boston is not the power house of the last few years IMO

I don't recall Burke saying it would hamper development. I believe he just said he didn't like the idea of it happening.
