Two ways to look at that period I suppose. On the one hand, Toronto looked slow and got dominated by the Tkachuk line. On the other, it didn't feel like they had a problem with anyone else really. I think if they can make some adjustments to deal with Florida's speed and figure out a way to deal with Tkachuk(easier said than done, I know) they look well matched.

Still think the lack of young player development on the Leafs sticks out like a sore thumb. Knies comes in and looks virtually nothing like anyone else on the roster. Feels like the next step forward for this team construction-wise has to be to figure out how to surround their stars with the kind of young, energetic players Florida has a bunch of.

True, but it's not like there's a ton of draft picks by Florida. Barkov, Ekblad, Lundell and not a ton else.

I didn't really say anything about draft picks. I just said young player development. If the Leafs could do that with college FA's or trading for them, great, but there's no denying the Leafs roster doesn't have much in that regards and the system doesn't seem stuffed with them either.

Samsonov keeps it 1-0.

They are giving us ice on the attacking zone.  Seems like just a matter of time before one goes in.

Florida getting the bounces

Keep pushing.  The Leafs have had chsnces to get one
