R2, G5: Panthers @ Maple Leafs - May 14th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

At the same time I'm going to be sitting on my couch and nail biting Game 6 until it's clear there is a finality to this season. I have no faith in this team to take back control.

They went up 3-1 in Game 3 and felt adversity when the Panthers tied it up and haven't been able to regain it. We also once again have the second best goaltender in a playoff series

"I'M DONE WITH THIS TEAM!!"

-- Ozzie 1979 (Tiger Williams almost beats up referee. Lanny traded), 1983, 1987, 2003 (Leafs acquire oldsters Gilmour and Housley to bait fans), 2021 (Montreal series), 2023, 2024, 2025 (Game 5 2nd round)

See you all next season!

In games 1 and 2 we had the best goalie, Bob faltered a bit and we got a few by him, Bob's back on his game and it's amazing how much of a different team the Panthers are when he's on his game, we're shell shocked right now and I don't know if we can recover, but who knows.

That was the following years playoffs... I blame him for the series loss. I still assume the same out of Max, which we are seeing. Stupid, stupid, stupid penalties.
Not much you can do in a series where one guy is able to run around throwing his elbows hither and thither, including concussing your #1 goalie and knocking him out of the series without retribution, while Domi gets 2 minutes for stopping in front of a guy and looking at him.

It's a psychological thing happening with the refs. Because the Panthers play the way they do, it's deemed normal and they don't get penalized. If the Leafs make a play similar to what the Panthers do it gets called for a penalty because it stands out because they don't normally play that way.

The only way this team (or any team really) will win is if they get the whistle. I wouldn't call the "bias" of the whistle terribly bad in this series, but there were so many plays where a penalty could have been called in the Leafs favour and it didn't happen.

This was crucial in this series because if the Panthers would have been called for their infraction it would have changed the way they had to play. It didn't and the Leafs are pooched because of it. So it's not just about getting power plays, it would have changed the way the Panthers played.

The league's approach to head shots doesn't exist, it's ridiculous. However, Domi has taken some stupid untimely penalties.
