Is it too soon??  ;D  I figure we can start drawing conclusions about Carlyle after tonights game.  Maybe he'll get the 'greatest' vote in the early going, but inevitably, he will be fired!

We should have a Carlyle thread but I would much prefer a name change.  Maybe just The Official Randy Carlyle Thread.

Are you kidding me?  We can start drawing conclusions immediately without knowing anything at all.  Why wait until he has had more than 24 hours with the team?  If he can't fix what is wrong in half a day, he doesn't deserve to coach.

I like the cut of your jib!  I didn't particularly like the suit he was wearning when he hit the tarmac in Montreal.  Did I mention that yet?

I'm about results more than suits.

As it stands, I'm left very concerned by the fact that he has zero wins as a Leaf coach.

sometimes I absolutely love coming to this place. :)

good humour.  i vote to keep the randy carlyle thread title as is.

Excuse me Mr. Glass-is-half-empty.  Here's something to put in your pipe:  Not once have the Leafs been outplayed by Boston since Carlyle has been at the helm.  The Canucks haven't even beaten us.  That, my friend, is a step in the right direction!  :P

That's true. The Leafs haven't lose a game since they hired Carlyle. Sign this man to an extension!

Good start. If they manage to play like this and win against Boston I'm on the playoff is doable bandwagon...

Nice to see the Leafs skate for 60 minutes. Don't know how much Carlyle had to do with it but if the absence of Wilson did then.......fantastic.

Weird that the second Wilson is gone, Grabovski almost gets a hat trick.

Carlyle actually has a pretty decent track record in teaching teams defence but that was seriously boosted by Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger.  Read more in this blog I wrote for the site... http://www.tmlfans.ca/blogs/5375-carlyle-needs-to-teach-the-leafs-defence#more-5375

Shameless promotion of guest blogs I write for this site now is shameless

Good article Kevin, I'd say our defensive core right now is better than the one in Anaheim post Neids and Pronger.  So if he can get us to around 15th or better in both stats I'd be impressed.
