Rangers @ Leafs - Feb. 10th, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

DownGoesBrown: About time the Leafs got some of that money back. RT @Michael_Traikos: Really looks like Clarkson is giving Horachek his two cents.

Yeah. I don't think he's a floater. He's just really not a good NHL hockey player.

I'm sure he could do a great job of stepping up his game in his local beer league.

David Clarkson believes he's being scratched to send a message to the team.

::)

There he goes blaming the team again. Horachek has literally nothing to lose right now, there's almost no way he's coming back with the Leafs next season as a head coach. I'm hoping that a bridge has been burned here and Clarkson spends a lot of time in the pressbox for the rest of the season.

I do think Clarkson is capable of providing more to this team.  Unfortunately, it will never be to the point it justifies his contract.

At the very least Clarkson should be a decent 3rd line player who throws his body around. Right now he's an invisible 4th line player when he isn't disrupting his own teams offence or falling down.

Yeah, when Clarkson's name first came up around here as someone to add it was with the idea that he would be a good 3rd liner. Can hit, can score occasionally...that sort of thing. Then, and this is just a shot in the dark here, he might have had those good goal scoring seasons and started thinking he could make a living in this league just on the virtue of that.

So I have to think he's capable of rededicating himself to playing more within his limitations.

Shades of Darcy Tucker there.

ya with some guys the gas runs out of the tank pretty early. So we bought a tough car with a  tired engine.  The guy should have some pride and retire. If he loves his Leafs that is.
He already has more money than most of us can imagine.

According to NHL numbers he's earned around 21 million in his career. Figure he gets to keep 11 or so of that. That's a lot of money but I can imagine it.

Serious question, no matter how much he is worth, let's speculate and say $15 million at present, $11 million take home and some wise investments.

In his shoes, would you leave the other $27 million on the table to 'do the right thing?'

That's generational wealth type of money, his kids and grandkids would be set for life most likely if he keeps cashing those checks.

I know he sucks and I want rid of him as much as most, but be realistic.

Thats funny, he negotiated the deal so it is his bread, perhaps if the benching continues he will let them off the hook for some of it at some point.  11 million is a load of money and frikk the grandkidz?.they should earn it on there own?like the rest of us.

I once had to look after Red Fisher for a day and the old bast__d said he wasnt leaving his kidz a nickel, didn't belive in it and there are a lot of folks like that.

Doug McLean is hilarious.

@Hope_Smoke

MacLean "I don't know what's happened to Bozak & now all the analytics ppl are poking their heads up talking about how bad he is

Article in my signature from December 1 provides 3 scoring projections for Bozak, the first being based off of his career numbers.  It projects him to 52 points on the season.  His current pace? 52 points.
