Game Notes
NYR
-Igor Shesterkin will likely start for the Rangers
-New York initially came out of the Olympic break on a heater, goin 6-1-2 in 9 games. Since then though they've lost 5 straight, including an embarrassing 2-1 loss to Ottawa on Monday where they only recorded 10 shots on goal. It was initially just 9 shots, but someone must have found something to get them to double digits
TOR
-Joseph Woll will likely start for the Leafs

We can't even do that right.
That's on management/coaches. Players will always try to win. There are guys still fighting for jobs, if not here, then elsewhere. They should have shutdown Knies and anyone else that's injured. They had a great chance when Matthews got hurt. I don't mind them beating Boston though. Those 2 pts could come back to make them miss.

The way I see it, you’d probably have expected 2 points out of these 2 games. But you’d expect it to have been lose to Boston and beat NY. But it would be very Leaf to beat the good team then flame out against the poor team.

And actually in this case that could be beneficial as it dented the Bruins hopes of the playoffs, but might help NY in a 4 point swing closer to the leafs game.
