Red Wings (7) v. Blackhawks (2)

Game 5 result:
Chicago  4  Detroit 3  Red Wings lead series 3 games to 2.

Two powerplay goals solved the puzzle that was Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard, all the Hawks really needed for the win.

This time, it was Detroit's turn in the penalty box, and Chicago forwards such as Jonathan Toews aiming at the net, that made the difference, as opposed to Game 4.:

The series now shifts back to Detroit Monday night for Game 6. Considering Chicago's intransingencies there so far in this series, can the Hawks continue the momentum?

4-1 was the score of the game.

Fixed.  :)

Someone at CBC should win some kind of award for this, the music, the editing and the emotion it conveys is really amazing to me. The Wings are one of the teams I don't mind seeing do well, but after watching this I'm rooting for the Hawks to come back.

Seabrooks little tap for Toews really choked me up, hockey really is the best sport.

Heh, well my wife's love for her previous boyfriend predates me but I don't want to see her putting hearts around his name  ;D

but, OldTime, neither Jonathan Toews nor Joffrey Lupul is/was/would ever be an old boyfriend. I have maternal feelings for these guys! yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The refs call back Chicago's potential game/series winning goal with about a minute and a half left in the game because of coincidental penalties away from the play by the benches.

One of the worst calls that I've seen in a long time. I'm shocked the Blackhawks fans didn't take the ice.

So that's 2 big goals for Chicago called back this series due to bad officiating.

Just terrible, I almost want Detroit to win to see the reaction.

But I'm still rooting for Chicago, 800 bucks is the prize in the work playoff pool that I'm near the top.

MacLean sticking up for the refs, obviously. The whole whistle thing may be valid, but Saad did absolutely nothing in that skirmish to deserve a penalty. Nothing.

That was an absolutely horrible call. The only thing I can think of is that Saad tripped the Detroit player before having Quincey pound him into the boards. But that's grasping at straws. Luckily justice was served that Chicago still won.

Even if I was moreso pulling for Detroit.
