I get that but imagine how Pittsburgh fans feel re: Crosby. They've dressed just about any stripe of goon/tough guy over his career and any of us think it would dissuade Naz from giving him the business?
That's just what happens to great players. No need to look further than how Sundin was treated despite Domi being in the lineup.

Maybe a little, but, too much, and he'll just end up taking a bunch of penalties himself. Honestly, the best way for Matthews to deal with all of it is to keep putting the puck in the net. Make the other teams pay in the only way that really matters.
