Round 1: Edmonton Oilers vs. Winnipeg Jets

In all honesty, I thought Winnipeg would be a tough out for Edmonton. Certainly not 3-0, but beating Hellebuyck four times and a talented Jets team that underperformed in the regular season is not an easy task. They are fully capable of coming out of the division.

That being said, Edmonton has NO secondary scoring. If Kassian is your third best threat, you?re screwed. Nugent-Hopkins has entered one of the worst 1st overall picks territory.

He's not great but hardly one of the worst all time. Patrik Stefan? Nail Yakupov? He has a great playoff last year. The whole team is built poorly.

He?s certainly not a useless bust like those two and Daigle. But he?s nowhere near close to the 1st overall picks in recent years, and scrapes that lower tier of picks.

But you?re right, the team is built poorly. No depth up front, a weak D after Nurse, and Smith is a has been.

If you take away their head-to-head series, Edmonton only earned 3 more points than Ottawa. They?re a bad team that got a boost from dominating another bad team.
